Highly Disappointed

Subaru Of America - Highly Disappointed
I bought a new 2020 legacy (off the lot) It had about 50 miles on it. I have had it for 4 months and it has been in the shop more than i get to drive it. A new transmission had to be put in it at 2500 miles, the cameras have been recalibrated and one issue with the dash not working. I have to drive 40 miles everytime there is an issue. They do give me a loaner but it is still a huge inconvenience. I decided it may be a good idea to trade because im afraid of what will happen in the future. I am at the dealership now and they just told me there is nothing they can do for me unless I put a large amount of money down..... Wow Subaru... so disappointed. I live these cars, but hate the problems and inconveniences. Now im stuck in this unreliable car.... thats brand new

Failed Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Spent an hour on the phone. Operator couldn't make their software work. Called a tow service directly, arranged a prompt tow. Got an automated call from Subaru Roadside Assistance that their tow truck would arrive in 2 1/2 hours. Cancelled their tow. I will never get that wasted 1 hour back. Complete waste of time using Subaru Roadside Assistance.

I purchased a brand new Subaru Forester in September

I bought the vehicle beleiving it would best provide my wife with the safety she required and the confidence I needed given her limited mobilty we took delivery on Monday Sept 7 from Center Subaru in Torrington CT our salesman was Tracy who relentlesly spoke of the safety features of the vehicle including it's "StarLink" which would send help if needed at push of button as I drove home from Vermont on Sat Feb 27 the vehicle began to shut down the engine seized the transmission failed as I slid down a hill with no control thankfully I was able to turn on to a side road after that the vehicle was completely immoblle this is only the beginning of a situaton that became dangerous for my wife and her friend if anyone at Subaru actually sees this or cares please contact me this story gets worse

Request assistance from Subaru of America

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
During a oil consumption test on my 2014 Subaru, which I Purchased brand new five years ago, the back right cylinder needed to be replaced and required a new engine with 119,000 miles. I requested Subaru of America to Do the right thing and handle The entire cost ($5,500). Im sure they expect their Subaru forester engines to last more than 119,000 miles?! Thanks and regards, Michael Wiltowski

Subaru Roadside Assistance

Original review Nov 21, 2020
Worst experience ever. I paid for a membership $79.95. Policy effective 4/2020 through 4/21. Called them last night. Representative asked me for many forms of identification. Could not locate my membership even though I had a 'membership card' and ID that I provided MANY times. Representative was definitely reading from a 'script of questions'. Finally, after about an hour on the phone with the representative, they 'find' my information using the last 8 digits of my VIN. Okay, great I think now we are getting somewhere. WRONG. Then they proceed to tell me that they cannot verify my 'coverage' even though the 'found' my account information. I have a vehicle that doesn't start and need a tow. This is covered under this so called policy. And, they said that I need to contact member services to help resolve. But...they are not opened on weekends. And, if I want someone to come out I need to pay out of pocket for the tow. TOTAL SCAM. Do not waste your money on this roadside assistance program. Worst experience ever and very disappointed that Subaru is even affiliated with this program. I had an Infiniti and had a similar program and had EXCELLENT roadside assistance. So, I do believe there are reputable companies out there but Subaru A Roadside Assistance Program is NOT ONE OF THEM!!!

Last week I had an accident while driving my 2017 Subaru Outback. I had the cruise control set on 70mph and an antelope jumped in front of my vehicle. ALL the airbags front back and side deployed instantly. I never even had time to apply the brakes however the car came to a stop and I was able to safely steer it off the road. All 4 of us in the car were craddled safely in our seats and remained unharmed! We were amazed and grateful for the exceptional safety features of this wonderful vehicle. My insurance company determined my car was a total loss. So I am shopping for another Subaru with great confidence . Now if only I could stretch that insurance check a little farther and purchase the limited.

Complete dissatisfaction with 2018 outback

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My major issue is with windshield breaking, 2 windshields in 8,0000 miles. Subaru and safelite both wanted over 1200.00 to replace a windshield, not a very nice way to treat a man who gave them 32,000 for a car. Subaru wants to set the hook deep and over charge you for as long as you own your car. I had my windshields replaced at southwest auto glass for 425 each. Subaru did reimburse me for one windshield which was the best I was gonna get. Im 69 and have owned many cars Subaru cars are junk. Breaking windshields, technology gremlins, poorly designed cvt transmission absolutely everything sticks to the cloth seats and the back seats don't fold flat with the cargo area. Subaru is all about marketing, I DON'T FEEL THE LOVE. I sold that car for a huge loss Do yourself a favor avoid Subaru like it was Covid 19

Disapointed

My wife and I just leased our second (in a row) Subaru Outback. We did so because we just loved the first one. We turned in our 2018 and came home with a 2021 LX ONYX. Before we finalized the deal, we had a complete review of all the gadgets and creature comfort features. Everything was fine, especially the upgrade to allow us to start the car from our smartphones. What a great idea. It did away with the additional transmitter that we had to attached to our 2018's key bob. My wife noticed that there were no seat position setting buttons on the drivers side door. We have had this feature in all of our cars ever since 2000. We were told this too could be accomplished through our smartphone, also a great idea. However, it turned out to be untrue. Since the dealers no longer employ delivery specialists due to COVID, the dealer, during the features review, told us he would have to get in touch with someone at corporate to find out how to set this feature up. The next week, he called us and said he had misspoken. There was no such feature available. How can Subaru sell a top of the line Outback with power seats, mirrors, etc. and not have preset seat settings? The owner's manual actually shows the three buttons located in the door panel exactly where ours were in the 2018,so we were easily convinced that the feature was included, but it was just another handy dandy smartphone feature. I just can not believe this lack of a great feature is true. When the dealer called and told us the terrible news, I told him I wanted to bring the car back and kill the deal. I know this is next to impossible since we have all the paperwork done etc. I just want you folks know that we consider the preset automatic adjusting seat settings to be the greatest feature man ever devised except for the automatic garage door openers. Is there any way we can get this feature added to our newly leased Outback LX ONYX? If so, we believe this should be done at the dealers expense. Other than this issue, we love this Outback even more than the last one. Respectfully,
