Subaru WRX 2021 warranty BUYER BEWARE
Im leasing a Subaru WRX 2021 with only 12K miles and I had engine failure. I have the car for only 18 months and Subaru is giving me the run around.
They have my car for almost one month with no resolution when I called the local dealer in Temecula CA they tell me they are waiting on a response from Subaru of America. I talked to two different people are the customer resolution center in NJ and they have no answers for me. This engine has a problem since 2009. There is an actual class action lawsuit against Subaru for engine failure for WRX models.
I will highly suggest you do some research online before buying one of these WRX cars. I also had to replace my windshield because rocks hit it on the highway and the it cracked.
I also found out Subaru had another class action suit against them because of an issue with the windshields. I wish I had done lots of research before leasing this car.
- Warranty honor issues
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Read as much as you can online before buying a Subaru
Issues with car
No help and no call back, car will break down before 60k miles
It has been over FIVE MONTHS since my 2015 Forester's engine and timing assembly went out with LESS THAN 60k MILES ON THE CAR!!!
It has been TWO WEEKS since I called Lithia Subaru of Fresno with regard to getting a copy of the software for my ECU after having my car rebuilt elsewhere. I have yet to get a call back.
It has been over 48 BUSINESS HOURS since I called Subaru to lodge a complaint. In fact, it has been over 72 BUSINESS HOURS since I made the complaint.
I was unable to visit my friend in ICU as she laid dying from cancer because my CAR BROKE DOWN!!!
Stop advertising that you are a company that cares in any capacity, and stop advertising that your cars last the test of time.
- Will not return your phone calls or try to help
Preferred solution: I would like the correct software for my ECU to be given to Automotive Pros of Fresno so that I can actually drive the car they had to rebuild the engine for.
User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY A SUBARU.
Still not happy
About 5 weeks ago my windshield started cracking with NO chips or any reasoning behind it. It took 3 weeks but someone did finally call me back.
Their answer was well we have never heard of this.. I call Bull S$$t as there are hundreds of complaints. They said they would pay my deductible if I sent them a copy of my credit card statment.. Not sending anyone my information..
The receipt from safelite only has total charges for new windshield, no breakdown of payment. Even the person at Safelite said that was the weirdest break he had seen.
Honestly Subaru doesn't care. I love my Outback but this was just wrong
User's recommendation: We need a class action suit going on

Verified Buyer | Rapid City, South DakotaEngine failure
Subaru of America, Inc.Subaru has done nothing but let me down since I purchased a a 2019 Ascent. I experienced engine failure, which multiple people have told me is not uncommon and the company refuses to repair under warranty!!!
The dealership I had to tow my car to is trying to charge me 24 THOUSAND DOLLARS for the repair. Customer advocacy has done NOTHING. SUBARU LOVE is a LIE. I am a single mother, an ICU nurse in a pandemic and I lost my job from this disaster.
I already suffer PTSD and this nightmare has set me back tens of thousand of dollars and I havent had my car in months. I would never EVER recommend a Subaru to ANYONE.

Starting issue with my 2014 Subaru outback
There is a known cold starting issue with the 2014 Subaru Outbacks. My vehicle only has 58,500 miles on it and the issue is getting worse.
My definition of cold start has nothing to do with the outside temperature, but involves starting the vehicle after it has been sitting for over 24 hours. In short, the engine itself is cold! It seems to appear that there is no gas in the fuel lines at this time, and an extended cranking process is required to prime the fuel lines again. Once the engine is running, the vehicle can be instantly re-cranked again when the ignition is turned off and back on.
This may be due to a faulty "check valve" that is built into the fuel pump.
Not sure what to do about it. The dealership wants $1400.00 to replace the fuel pump.
User's recommendation: Consider buying a Toyota. I had always owned one, but I wanted to try something different with a bit more styling.

The service dept didnt solve the problem with my car changed a sensor multiple times without ever troubleshooting the problem then when it failed for the final time it blew the head gasket just 2 weeks after changing the sensor for the final time Im which they had my car at least 3 weeks I called at least twice a week to check status I never spoke to the rep was told I would receive a call back which I never did then I received a call from Subaru of America he told me the rep didnt mention the multiple sensors that were installed and that they didnt try to troubleshoot the problem but did mention replacing the water pump like it was done to fix the problem but as you know water pumps get changed when timing belts are changed which is why the pump was changed and if they did change the pump to solve the sensor problem and it didnt work why would you change the sensor again without troubleshooting why it blew again and then again then finally on the fourth failure the head gasket blew and its not their fault that shows me incompetence on their part and unprofessionalism in the way they treated me for all the unanswered calls leaving me scrambling to get to work because their lack of communication while ignoring my calls for the almost month they had my car especially being my fourth and final Subaru since Subaru of America cant help me hopefully the bbb and local news and possible lawyers might be able to help
User's recommendation: Stay away from hasset Subaru
Repair
After a dead battery, my windows, and rear tailgate mechanism was not functional. i was able to jumpstart the vehicle, the battery charged and the charging system was fine.
I was at the dealer getting a warranty issue addressed and asked them to look at the concern. I was later called back and told that my master window switch, tailgate motor and latching mechanism needed to be replaced at a cost of over $2000.00 and that the pets needed to be ordered.
I brought the vehicle home, looked possible causes because I thought that it was very odd that all of those components went bad at once.
I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and the windows now function correctly and my current mechanic said he put his diagnostic equipment on it and the motor and latch mechanism are find but he will delve into a solution or recommend a different dealer.
Horrible to be taken advantage of as a customer and feel sympathetic to anyone on a fixed income who didnt have options. What other repairs are they falsely gouging people.
I also found out they get a % of all repairs and it is advantageous for both the mechanic and service writer to advise as much as possible to be repaired.
User's recommendation: Find an honest Subaru dealer

You had the car for 3 years. What did you do maintenance wise?
I assume you don't have a leg to stand on in this matter since you have to give us a sob story on being a first responder to get your way. Grow up
I had the car 9 months. Maintenance was done. Thanks for being a ***
