Complaint
I plan on contacting the home office but I was in a parking lot an hour away from home...car full of groceries...I could not put car in drive or reverse...called the 800 number on windshield got a tow guy to come 45 minutes later...the service gal in Clarksville told me out to reset it...I already was home by that time...it was the brake light thing...I had no brake lights and had no idea...the part was cheap but labor was expensive...I am 70 years old and being stranded was a very scary thing...crosstrek was expensive and can’t afford another car...this should be on a recall list!!!!!
Great success

Negligence with oil change resulting in new engine installation
On 9/12/2017, I took my daughter's 2010 Subaru Impreza to Lester Glenn Subaru of Toms River, NJ for a 90,000 mile servicing. Explained the car needed to be in optimal shape for a road trip to Florida where my daughter would be moving the following month. Half way through our journey, driving on 95 S in North Carolina, the car began to slow down and resist her attempts to increase speed. We pulled over onto the shoulder. After being towed (twice), told by 2 different garages the latter being Cross Creek Subaru, we were told the engine seized due to oil drain plug falling out. They inspected oil pan, drain plug threads intact, no stripping, pan not dented. Service manager explained whoever changed the oil last undoubtedly must have neglected to torque on the oil plug correctly as there is a unique way of doing so with Subaru's. Also the force of the continuous highway travel contributed to the already improperly torqued oil plug coming loose. We ended up spending over $4000 for a new (used engine) plus other unexpected costs of a car rental, hotel, and car transport after the car was repaired.
Lester Glenn Subaru ignored us, stating too much time went by from when the oil was changed to the car breaking down. No warning lights came on during those 6 weeks, until the last minute when the oil plug fell out. Cross Creek Subaru said timing did not matter, that it was the force of the continuous highway driving that contributed to the already poorly torqued oil plug, and whoever changed the oil last was responsible for the damage.
Spoke with Branden of Subaru of America, who received all this information, and he only spoke to Lester Glenn Subaru, never bothered to speak with Cross Creek Subaru who found the reason for the negligence. Poor Customer Service here on Subaru of America's "Customer Service Dept"
This complaint is in dispute with American Express.
These expenses were completely unnecessary all due to the negligence of an oil change. Every time my daughter has to take her car now for future servicing and oil changes, she has to watch them do the work properly and speak with the mechanic and service manager about her experience.

Problem with passenger air bag
Continually disappointed
I am continually disappointed with my Subaru durability. I own a 2012 legacy, have been the only owner and have it serviced at a dealer, the same dealer since the day i bought it, thinking this was a good idea and would help it last longer.
Often they are fixing one part and break another; sometimes they own up to it other times not. The most recent BS repair was a 'stripped ' oil pan. Well I have had many cars for long periods of time and have never had a stripped oil pan. It went in for an oil change with no drips or leaks then i was told it was so damaged they did not even know how the plug was still in there.
Since i was leaving on vacation i did not have any time to research so $400 later my tiny oil pan and gasket (part price $87) was installed.
As i was laying under my car the next day i was pretty sure i could have installed the thing in 15 minutes but it took the mechanic $264 in labor, so like 90 minutes - it left me feeling double ripped off. Do not trust your dealers, or your cars are just cheap crap Either way I do not love my subaru and never have.
- Service sometimes
- Car is still in the shop and i get a followup call
- It is dumb when they break a part
- Having to complain to get any service

Support of fox news
I purchased a forrester from you last august great car my wife and i love it.
The reason i am writing though is I noticed subaru runs ads on fox news.
This so called news station has supported the immigration polices of trump. What is happening at our borders is a disgrace, taking children from their parents .If subaru continues to give money to support fox news and their horrible support for this policy i will never purchase another one from you.No company should support the fox news station that supports this horrible treatment of children. It is a disgrace.I will tell everyone I know about your support of this station and its polices .Shame on subaru for supporting this news station thank you

I still would Iike to know why they won’t enable Apple CarPlay in the 2018 Forrester. StarLink sucks about as bad as it can get.
Please update the software or replace the head units. Every other 2018 Subaru model has CarPlay.
Bring it to the Forrester please! Otherwise Subaru is the best.
