I loved my 2014 legacy and recently got a 2018 Forester . I just had a chance to try it out in snow this week and must say thoroughly disappointed in it.

My legacy was a tank and went everywhere .not the case for this Forester .

It slides and spins worse than any car I’ve owned , wish I could take it back and won’t get another Subaru based on this experience. My wife’s AWD mkx puts this to Shame.

Subaru Of America review: Subaru Roadside Assistance is Worthless!

This was the first time I needed to call Subaru Roadside Assistance and I am only grateful I was not stranded on the side of the road or I would have frozen to death. I waited on hold for over an hour and finally gave up and called the service department of Fred Beans Subaru where I had purchased the car. They could not do anything to assist me, saying that I needed to go through Subaru Roadside Assistance. I finally got off the phone and I enrolled in AAA and within an hour, my car was towed and I was on my way. I will never recommend Subaru Roadside Assistance since it could end up being more dangerous to think that help is on the way when all you are really doing is waiting (and possibly freezing to death!) I will also never use Fred Beans for my service since they were just as unhelpful. Subaru should be ashamed to put their name on this service!

You asked if the problem was resolved. The answer to your question is NO. They have not had any contact with me. If I were to contact them, they'd just give me the same answer. Basically, if I want this problem resolved, I'm going to have to pay for it. It disturbs me when I research and find that many people have had this same problem, and even in a lot newer model cars, for instance 2013. Which means that Subaru has known of this problem for a long time , has not be held liable for it, and has done nothing to correct it. This is criminal. and something should be done about.

My 2016 Subaru Forester's diesel engine with CVT transmission failed catastrophically at 42,000 KM swith no prior warning. Vehicle would not move and made grinding sounds. Had it towed to the dealer and was told it is still under warranty. I asked about the failure and was told by the service techs that they had never heard or had a problem with the transmissions before. When I told them that Subaru has had numerous problems with the CVT over the years I was told that I did not know what I was talking about and that they never had a problem. I had researched the CVT problems quite a bit beforehand and was upset by the way I was treated. I now have a vehicle that I no longer trust and a dealer that will not ever get my business again. You are running a commercial where a woman holding a dog tells of going into anaphylactic shock. She says she woke up went to the hospital. Very few people would be able to wake up and get to the hospital if they were having an anaphylactic reaction to a medication.

Subaru Of America review: Comments on 2014 Outback

While looking at the online ads for the new Ascent I became aware of something I don't believe I had previously thought about...this is the first car I have ever purchased that didn't cause me to think about things that should have made, designed or otherwise done differently (with the possible exception of the design of the drivers side front floor mat which Subaru America resolved and then some). I can't say this is true about any other car I have ever purchased in the last 55 years. I also couldn't ask for better service than I have received from Park Subaru in Akron, Ohio. Vehicle started using oil at 50000 miles??? The rear tires only last 30000 miles, the alignment is fine! Owned a 92 Legacy, best vehicle I’ve ever owned, main reason I bought my Forester. May be my last Subaru

I agreed with you . Had a Rock solid 2014 legacy .

The AWD was flawless . Traded in on new 2018 Forester . The AWD is worse than a standard front wheel drive vehicle. I feel very unsafe in this car .

I think raising the ground clearance of this car significantly impacted it s AWD performance , I am embarrassed to be passed by non AWD cars in mild Inclement weather. Not what Subaru boasts .

Subaru Of America review: Service manager is good Subaru it self sucks on this

Head light bulbs keep going out. Have replaced them every 3 months or more. Now thd clips are waering out. Subaru says they will replace bulbs over and over again but not thd housing whicb is the problem. Fix the result of the issue but not fhed cause. Go figure.
