Reason of review
Not as described/ advertised
I previously was told that this failure would not be covered since the warranty had run out. As this was a major failure of the drive train I felt that since this part of the car should not have occured at this mileage. After providing detailed maintenance records...

I've been reading reviews all morning, and this is the first one that had a happy ending. You have apparently found the first honest Subaru dealership in America. Congratulations!

Subaru Of America in Boston, Massachusetts - Refused relief on replacing split differential casing

Update by user Jun 23, 2012

After some discussions and providing detailed maintenance records Subaru covered the entire cost which included the original failure but an aditional portion of the drive train that was found to be failing. I was looking at a $2500 repair bill.

The dealer ( Cityside Subaru) was extremely cooperative.

As note above customer service people finally came around. Alls well that ends well.

2007 legacy wagon purchased two weeks ago from original owner. While driving a loud clunk followed by clicking sound. was heard. Dealer found the center differetial casing split. Stated that he had never seen this type of failure before. The car had 69,000 miles on it putting out of warranty Contacted Subaru customer service if they would offer some relief. Some transmission work perfomed in the past and Subaru is saying since it wa not perfomed by them they could not offer any relief. Customer sevice did not seem to care about customer loyalty given that the vehicle was only 9000 miles out of warranty.

Subaru Of America in Boston, Massachusetts - SUBURU Natick MA "Play to Win" is a big fraud.

They are a big Fraud. They made us drive all the way to Natick saying you either win 25000 or get 2 Gold coins as a consolation prize if you do not win. Obviously we didn't win but when we asked for the Gold coins the Guy said sure and gave us 2 coins of $1. What a shame. When we said they are not Gold coins he said miss they are Gold Color coins we colored them with gold color. Than I said you stated Gold Coins not Gold Color coins, his attitude was "This is what it is". They are selling cars and they think they can win Consumer hearts by making them fool and embarrassing them by giving them 2 dollors.

Why do some people continue to feel as if they can get something for free? They were MADE to drive some distance for something for nothing.

Perhaps they are accustomed to freebees from the taxpayers. Right?
