I have a 2012 Subaru outback with low mileage (~30K only). Lately, I had issue to fill gas into the tank. I called dealer on 7/6 and they couldn't check it till 7/31 due to over-booking. I therefore had it fixed by a local shop and they discovered that the inside layer of a rubber hose collapsed. The work was done on 7/15 and they charged me $308.76. I have purchased many cars including GM, Toyota and Honda with different models in the last 40 years. This is my first Subaru I never experienced this strange issue with other cars I have/had. I work for SOA and can attest to the poor quality that our vehicles exhibit. Please hire a lawyer and sue as our company policy is to deny any warranty claim and give you the run-around.

I have to disagree with you. I work for a Subaru dealer in the Midwest and I have seen Subaru help people who they should not have helped.

Whenever there has been "Gray Areas" Subaru has taken the side of the owner. A technician would disassemble the engine and inspect it.

If the wear is showing, then a receipt won't help. Buy a new car and only allow the dealer to service it and then you couldn't possibly be at fault.

You probably need both and the condenser. If you lose a compressor it is often advised to replace most of the system this includes the Expansion valve, and Condenser.

With a failed compressor you run into what is called black death. If both the expansion valve and compressor go it is highly likely the condenser has a black goo in it from the lubricant used inside the compressor.

Thanks for taking the time to follow up! Bad: East Hills Subaru misquoted me. They told me that brakes were covered by my warranty. I made an appoint during my lunch break to have my brakes checked. They were late getting my car on the lift by 60 min (and now I'm REALLY late getting back to work). Once the diagnosis was done, they told me brakes were not covered by my warranty. Good: The customer service rep who spoke to me on the complaint line gave me a coupon for $350, which more than covered my costs at the dealership. It definitely made a difference and will keep me a customer!

Called roadside assistance. They said my 2016 was not covered. I told them we traded that in for a new 2018 outback. No record on file. Had to jump thru hoops get vin number etc. My wife is very ill and they want me running back and forth. finally said on the way. Waited two hours no call. They said it was denied?? Not sure why, so I could have waited all night. I may have to bring my wife to hospital. I have owned many Subaru's but this is the last straw. I will never own another after this terrible service!!!
