Who thought this one up? The factory installed remote starter for my 2014 Forester shuts the engine off when you open the door which means that every time you use the remote starter you'll be starting the car twice. You also cannot program out the horn that beeps...

Subaru Of America - Paint chips on 2018 Sunshine Orange Crosstrek
The paint integrity on the 2018 Sunshine orange Crosstrek is non existent. My car was purchased January 13, 2p18, just over 2 months ago. I even purchased a clear vinyl bra with the delivery of my new car but right above it would be at least 5 paint chips on the hood...

I feel that the decision to replace the compressor was made without an inspection being done when I returned the car after it continued to blow in hot air. The first bill was for 130.00, then they took my car for about ten minutes and decided it was the compressor. Thank you for your help in advance

I have a 2012 Subaru outback with low mileage (~30K only). Lately, I had issue to fill gas into the tank. I called dealer on 7/6 and they couldn't check it till 7/31 due to over-booking. I therefore had it fixed by a local shop and they discovered that the inside layer of a rubber hose collapsed. The work was done on 7/15 and they charged me $308.76. I have purchased many cars including GM, Toyota and Honda with different models in the last 40 years. This is my first Subaru I never experienced this strange issue with other cars I have/had. Subaru Of America - Thank you Suburu! Thanks to safety being your priority, I still have my Son.
My son, his financee and her 18 month old were in her Suburu Forrester. A semi crossed center line hit car in front of my son then hit my son on the drivers side. The vehicle rolled 3 or 4 times. When we got to the accident scene I didn't think I would ever see them again. Both he and his fiancée airlifted to UNMC in Omaha. 18 month old had one scratch on his chin. My son has a fractured c2 vertebrae, broken left arm and 14 staples in his head. She has bumps and bruises but nothing broken. Both released from hospital next night. Nothing short of a miracle. This is dashcam footage of the crash. Thank you so much for my sons life!!!!

The Great Pumpkin wanted his skin back. I can't tell from the photos whether bare metal has been exposed or the primer coat ; that would likely determine the source of the problem.

Most of the online comments condemn the orange so it's probably the problem. But if that's bare metal exposed, the problem is either the surface prep, primer, or friction from a malfitting component.

2014 Outback 3.6 Limited. Earlier this week my wife went grocery shopping and was coming to a stop in a parking space in front of the store.

Her foot was on the brake- she was essentially parked- approximately 4’ from the sidewalk in front of the car- the car suddenly flew forward, engine revving as if the gas peddle was floored (it wasn’t!). The car hit the curb with enough force to blow to blow a tire and mounted the sidewalk between the parking space and grocery store. Despite the fact that her foot was on the brake and it was depressed, the brakes were having no effect in overriding the instantaneous surge of full power from the engine. She had to quickly take her foot off the brake and punch it with all her strength to stop the car just before it would have hit the building.

She immediately shut it off. Thank god no one was on the sidewalk in front of her- if someone had been they likely would have died. This was NOT a case of driver error and neither was the floor mat was jammed under the gas peddle. She was braking to a stop in a parking space barely moving as her foot was on the brake peddle.

She wears a size six shoe and her foot was not straddling the brake and gas peddle. We notified the manufacturer, the dealer and Transport Canada immediately. Transport Canada has launched an investigation and will be inspecting the car next week. Subaru has registered the complaint but we’ve had no follow up from them since my initial call.

The dealer’s service manager called back only after he was contacted by the Transport Canada investigator despite me having left 3 previous messages. The service manager seemed more concerned that Transport Canada was involved, stated that the complaint was above his pay grade and that he would refer the issue to the general manager- no contact from the dealer since then. I’ve come across numerous, identical complaints of sudden unexpected acceleration involving Subaru’s on other sites. This is an extremely dangerous and life threatening defect that must be take seriously and must be resolved.

All of the various manufacturers and most investigator’s routinely blame sudden unexpected acceleration on driver error (no doubt, the majority of these events are driver error. But not all.

My wife is now terrified to drive the Outback and refuses to drive it again- ever. And she absolutely loved that car until this happened.

I rarely complain which I admit is a fault of mine and I usually take a loss and figure it is what it is. But this really has me very upset.

I am in the right and Ciocca Subaru is wrong, PERIOD. I feel they should pay me what I had to spend to repair my car.

I am very disappointed in the quality. There are splits in several areas of the seat. Gorilla tape is holding it together. My 21 year old Buick looks better than my cross trek.
