Subaru Of America - 2020 Outback

I have owned 4 Subarus starting in 1985. Satisfed for the most part except for an issue I had with my current 2009 Outback which i will post on a separate review. I've been watching numerous YouTube videos on the 2020 Outback thinking of trading. Am a little disappointed with the ratings of the tech. Especially the resolution of the cameras and gps and screen response to finger movements. I am willing to pay more for high resolution and faster equipment since I plan to keep the car for many years.

There are so many 2010 head gasket issues with 2010. I have a Subaru forrester and have replaced a clutch, at 70,000 (I have been driving manuals since 17 years old) and now have to replace head gasket.

I have done some research online and this seems to be a major default in their 2010 models. I will never buy a Subaru again.

Worst warranty too. There are so many more manufacturers that offer more than 33,000 mile warranty.

I am a dog person, but the most irritating thing a dog does is whine and bark for no reason. Your commercials are supremely irritating, and every time I hear your whining dogs in my living room I am less likely to ever buy a Subaru again!

Subaru Of America - Inferior Tires

I have a 2016 Forester with 31,500 Miles on it. One of the tires developed a huge bulge on the sidewall. I called the dealership to ask about warranty coverage for tires with only 31,000 miles on them. I got the run around at the dealership They kept transferring me and the service dept. never answered, eventually it went to voice mail and they were supposed to call me back, THEY NEVER DID. (Peninsula Subaru ) So I called Tacoma Subaru, they at least talked to me and promised to call me back, they never did. The tread on these tires were in excellent shape. I had to buy new tires ( at a tire center ) $1090.00. I feel new car tires should last longer than this, and I should have at least gotten some credit. Please put decent tires on your vehicles.

I had the same issue at roughly the same mileage. I had 3 bubbles in the side walls if 3 different tires.

I figured that I would have been provided higher quality tires. I will admit I do drive some highway miles but they seemed to ware out much quicker than expected.

Subaru Of America - I think I got a lemon Subaru!

I was so happy to find an affordable used Subaru, but I've had my 2011 Forester just about 6 months now and it's been in the shop twice already. Now it needs a catalytic converter...not a minor repair. Of course, it's out of all warranties, so no recourse other than to trade it in for another Mazda MPV/5 like the one I drove for 17 years with few problems. I really thought I was being smart in getting a Subaru. Guess I was wrong. :-(

Subaru Of America in Salt Lake City, Utah - Horn and gas tank release

I contacted about both issues as I had seen many who also are experiencing , but noticed no recall even on a safety issue such as a horn . This alarmed me as a new owner snd duggested That Subaru Of America does not truly care after car is sold if s small issue like this is not simply a recall when many are experiencing the same on their cars. Not sure I will buy another Subaru after noting this as the horn issue is happens to cars from 2012 to 2018 and it should not be, and the same for gas release . No response From the Company gives me an answer I believe - which is sad as I do like the car.

Details
Wife had a flat tire, the tire was unrepairable. Assumed I could get one from dealerships. Nobody has one so I have to depend on the spare for 5 days until one can be ordered in. Glad I don't need the car or am on vacation! What a bad position to be in!

I bust a tire on the fwy and AAA put the donut on. I called the dealer for a new tire and price...Quoted $325...I told the dealer to stick the tire where the sun dont shine...Replaced BOTH rear tires (1 being new with 3,000 miles with Nitto/s and told the tire guy to keep both tires...Goodyear EAGLES are pieces of crap,,,Impreza owner
