Subaru Of America - Service department -- more of a self help line
I have a brand new 2017 Subaru Forester -- had it about a week. Out of the blue the "check engine" light is on.
Read the manual, and re-did the gas cap as directed. Also have the cruise control icon flashing, the "hill assist" icon illuminated, and the "x-drive" icon illuminated. Sat in the driveway on Sunday and read through the manual doing all the steps as instructed. Nothing worked.
Call the local dealership today (not where I purchased the car) and the Service Manager told ME to disconnect the negative line on the battery - wait - reattach. Luckily my husband can do that. Anyway still didn't fix the problem. Everything still blinking, illuminated.
But NO offer of "why don't you bring it in and we'll take care of it." Why wouldn't that be the solution??? Instead, self help??
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
Subaru Of America Pros: Where i bought the car was great but must service it locally.
Subaru Of America Cons: Local dealer service advised me to fix the problem myself.
