I have a brand new 2017 Subaru Forester -- had it about a week. Out of the blue the "check engine" light is on.

Read the manual, and re-did the gas cap as directed. Also have the cruise control icon flashing, the "hill assist" icon illuminated, and the "x-drive" icon illuminated. Sat in the driveway on Sunday and read through the manual doing all the steps as instructed. Nothing worked.

Call the local dealership today (not where I purchased the car) and the Service Manager told ME to disconnect the negative line on the battery - wait - reattach. Luckily my husband can do that. Anyway still didn't fix the problem. Everything still blinking, illuminated.

But NO offer of "why don't you bring it in and we'll take care of it." Why wouldn't that be the solution??? Instead, self help??

Reviewer is in unhappy mood. This person is quite happy with where i bought the car was great but must service it locally and stated that there is a room for improvement of local dealer service advised me to fix the problem myself. Please immediately contact the author of this review to discuss poor customer service of 2017 subaru of america forester. Subaru Of America needs to offer any options to resolve the issue according to poster's claims.
