My 2011 forester failed an oil consumption test. The engine was replaced and now it has a bad knock that is getting worse than it was whrn the engine was replaced. I took my car to Waikem Subaru again. They said that the noise is the timing chain tensioner that makes noise until oil pressure builds up. However, the noise has gotten worse. The knock is louder. Subaru Of America - Outstanding Service, but......

When I agreed to purchase my certified used 2014 Forester, the deal breaker was to get all fluids, belts, brakes, and tires replaced even though the car had only 22, 600 miles on it. Yesterday, after an oil change, I was informed that my rear brakes are down to 6mm and front brakes have the like new 8mm remaining. Huh? I only drove 13,000 miles on them since I purchased it. I questioned the service manager, and sure enough, after looking up my certification/inspection documents, the front brakes had 8mm (therefore they were not replace) and the rears had 6mm (therefore they were not replaced, as per manufactures specs/guidelines. Well this was not the deal I requested and promised. I requested new brakes all around. Obviously I was deceived. So after a lengthy discussion with service manager, he offered me two free oil changes to make it right. Well that's OK, but still isn't right. The principal is that I was promised one thing but received something different. To me that's deception/fraud. I understand it was within certification specs, but that was not the deal that was promised. Was it intentional. Probably not, but I do believe that my salesman did not communicate this to the tech prior to certification, or my salesman did not want to create any "waves". Regardless, it was wrong. Otherwise, I have nothing but praise for the past experiences I've had at this dealership. Their "customer first" motto is embedded well within it's entire organization. I hope it continues.

customer service are rude needs , specially if there are talking to people with accent.

i owned 2014 and 2017 subaru i think this will be my last purchase of this kind car brand. very bad experience and am talking corporate office in new jersey.

Subaru Of America - Called customer support about warranty repair

My Outback windshield glass cracks for no reason. Called dealer to get warranty repair but the earliest available appointment is 8 days later. Not feel safe to drive the car since the crack is about 1 foot long. Dealer refused my request to get earlier appointment. The dealer is Livermore Subaru in Livermore, California. Called Subaru head office and waited for about 4 minutes. I left phone number to get call back. It never happens. This is very bad. They don't care about driver's safety. I had hard time to get maintenance service appointment at this dealer also.. It will take more than 10 days. This is the only Subaru dealer in 30 miles radius from my house. It becomes very painful to have my car service at this dealer.

Subaru Of America - Recall for airbag

I made an apt for Tuesday Feb. 7,2017. Told they would give me a car and it would take all day to repair. called in the afternoon, said wasn't ready and takes 2 to 3 days. I called wed. at 3pm , they said oh it wont be ready fit takes 2 to 3 days. called Thursday, same response. I called Friday, Mark the guy handling my car??? said oh it wont be done until after Wednesday next week. I asked why nobody told me it would take over a week and why does it take that long. He refused to answer the question. I asked it again, he said thank you for calling, we'll call you. I asked again louder he refused to answer again. Why are they lying to me and why wont they fix the recall! are they waiting until the manufacturer sends them a refund before they start on my car? so forget about the customer, you want your money first?? I had a recall for my 2010 windshield wiper motor so I took it to Subaru of Glendale where I always go. I have been waiting 2 hours and my car was just parked and no one even started working on it. Our 2013 Subaru Outback started making a whirring noise two months ago, slight at first then louder. We live 120 miles from the dealer. We've had oil changes in our local garage. We priced a replacement CVT from the local shop for around $2800 for a remanufactured part.
