Subaru Of America - Fuel Mileage Issue

Since I had the short block replaced as a result of excessive oil consumption my fuel mileage has gone from an average of 26mpg down to 17 mpg. the dealer says to wait until the gas formula changes this summer. I contacted customer support who said they contacted the dealer and they are not getting any codes and don't know why the decrease in mileage and because the dealership says its the gas then that is what is probably the problem. I've had the car for 6 years and not until the short block was replace did I have had this problem.

Recently I took my 1st Subaru to finally have the recall airbag replaced. While there I asked for a few other items that I wanted to address. I gave Mark, at Stivers Subaru a poor review as he blatantly charged me for something that very obviously was NOT DONE. Today I called as my back floor mat is missing. One item that I had asked about would have required the floor mat be removed. Mark Carnete jumped me with "I remember you, you gave me a bad review". Obviously he has learned nothing about CUSTOMER SERVICE. He did not do his job well! If I am to be intimidated after giving a review, I won't return to any dealership. I love both of my Subarus, but this is unacceptable. Look forward to your responce.

As other consumers of this brand of vehicle, I too had a horrific time regarding the phone customer service "team". I figure they have maybe 5 people to answer the phones of consumers based on wait times ( 30 min.+ wait time) Also, I don't appreciate being told by a customer service rep that has probably 5% automotive/mechanic training, that I'm wrong. ( mind you I'm a licensed mechanic by the FAA and certified auto mechanic ) What I'm being told I'm wrong about is that engines consume oil at a rate of one quart per 3500 miles. That may be true for a Continental IO550 but not a boxer 3.6R with 54,000 miles on it (2011) What a world we live in where customer service is no better than a bean burrito from - fill in your own food chain here -

Poor maintenance support. No return phone calls from service advisor or maintenance supervisor on a recall issue. When I call Rivertown Suburu in Columbus, Georgia, I get lost in a maize of voice mail's and pushing buttons. Never talked to a human. I will never contact them again unless I have no other choice. I purchased my Forester from them when they were Jay Automotive in July of 2013. They are not the same since the ownership change. Much personnel turnover. I tried Jackson Automotive in Macon, Georgia. Talked to their maintenance supervisor on the first call. An operator picked up the phone on the first ring. They gave me a loaner while they addressed the recall issue. Friendly and supportive. The downside is that it is a further drive by 20 minutes.
