Have been Subaru customer since 2001 and have used Smith Cairns Subaru of Brewster NY now Colonial Subaru of Danbury act for all of our purchases and service. Over the years have spent well over $ 100,000.00 there
We now own 4 cars the latest a 2014 Forester.
My daughter had her Legacy In for service and requested a Subaru certified mechanic.
The Smith Cairns had a GM dealership across the street which he lost and put the Chevy mechanics in the Subaru shop.
Hence the service manager told in a stern voice that an A mechanic is an A me basing.
I am an A mechanic certified on a number of manufactures including European models bu now retired.
This does not make me qualified to work on some aspects of a Subaru.
The se ice manager then told her to take what he gives her or he won't take in our cars any more.
In 13 years we've never Experienced this kind of customer relations.
Notably other customers heard the exchange of words and were startled and 2 customers left.
Our concern with non Subaru certified mechanics is that prior experience one new prior non certified Subaru hire screwed one of our cars twice and was finally repaired by on of the Subaru certified mechanics.
I don't thin that is is the type of customer relationship your otherwise great company is looking to establish
Needles to say, we have now transferred our service and future buys to Curry Subaru in Cortland NY where we were pleasantly welcomed
Again the Brewster dealership is now owned by Colonial Subaru of Danbury Ct. Hence the problem started.
Perhaps you should keep an eye on this place because frankly their attitude sucks since the change over
