The rear spring on my 2014 forester broke off and because this is such a highly common thing with this vehicle, i cant buy the needed part to fix this car. So now im stuck paying on a non drivable vehicle. Subaru has not responded to me as to how i can fix this. Would not recommend subaru although they claim one would last a long time.

Subaru Of America - I think I got a lemon Subaru!

I was so happy to find an affordable used Subaru, but I've had my 2011 Forester just about 6 months now and it's been in the shop twice already. Now it needs a catalytic converter...not a minor repair. Of course, it's out of all warranties, so no recourse other than to trade it in for another Mazda MPV/5 like the one I drove for 17 years with few problems. I really thought I was being smart in getting a Subaru. Guess I was wrong. :-(

I contacted about both issues as I had seen many who also are experiencing , but noticed no recall even on a safety issue such as a horn . This alarmed me as a new owner snd duggested That Subaru Of America does not truly care after car is sold if s small issue like this is not simply a recall when many are experiencing the same on their cars. Not sure I will buy another Subaru after noting this as the horn issue is happens to cars from 2012 to 2018 and it should not be, and the same for gas release . No response From the Company gives me an answer I believe - which is sad as I do like the car.

Scheduled for a 9:00 appt, in Hilo, Hawaii. I live an hour and a half away. Waited 2 1/2 hours already & my car not even begun yet. Please help find good technicians.... wherever you need to get them. Hilo and Kona Hyundai/Subaru dealerships are hurting. I’m am disabled, this is not convenient, fun nor professional. Subaru Of America in Hendersonville, North Carolina - 2104 Forester PIECE OF ***! Oil Consumption issue.

Just found out about the oil consumption issue by getting stranded with no oil on the dipstick, on the freeway! My VIN falls below the *529004 so I'm a victim. Heard Subaru won't acknowledge this defect through recall. What!? I thought Subaru was so dependable and I get this with my first Subaru?! Hope to unload this piece of expensive *** and NEVER buy another Subaru again! Caveat emptor! Please reverse my attitude Subaru and do the right thing...recall and repair! Thanks.

Subaru Of America in Montpelier, Vermont - Lack of service under warranty

Details
Bubbles of water in headlight. They have tech bulletin #07-59-07R saying water vapor can happen. I have to drive 28.4 miles one way to have a dealer look at water drops on the inside. Then I have to have it approved. Then I have to drive back to have it fixed. A local mechanic who does their accident repair work is not good enough to determine if it needs fixing. It will not be covered by warranty if I do not jump through their hoops. I bought a 2014 Subaru and my husband bought a 2014 Toyota. My service does not come anywhere near to what he gets fast and efficiently. I will know better next time.

2 months after buying a new 2015 Outback, we had an incident that resulted in a broken rear back glass window. The dealer and several windshield repair companies all have no replacement glass available. They had to order a new back glass from the factory. I was initially told it would be a few days to get the glass in. A week later I followed up and was told it be another few days, they're still fabricating it. A week after that, still no glass and was told it was shipping the next day. 3 days later, still hasn't shipped. 4 days later, now all of a sudden it's in another state. I keep hearing excuse after excuse. I really think they just lie and tell you what you want to hear just to hold you off awhile longer. Meanwhile I've had to rent various cars for the past 3 weeks ($500 so far on top of the $700 for the replacement glass) and I'm still being fed a line of *** on when it'll arrive. I'm sick of this ***. This was my very first Subaru and probably my last.
