Subaru Of America - Subaru selling fake dent protection
I bought a 2015 Outback from Diablo Subaru of Walnut Creek, CA., and with it a Dent and Ding Protection policy for 5 years, for $511. The finance guy said it would cover all dents and dings the size of a tennis ball or smaller. What I found out when I called the company to have some dents fixed was that it was paintless repair, and that they would only work on sites that had no paint involvement at all. That was not mentioned by the rep nor is it on the contract. Furthermore, it only covers certain areas on the car where the metal is not reinforced, where the dent is easy to get to, and they don't cover bumpers. I found out that this dealership has renamed the policy to "Paintless Dent Repair" so they corrected their mistake, but I'm stuck with a policy that is not very useful. The finance manager said he would speak with the sales manager, but after 2 weeks of no call backs I'm looking for more help.
Based on my experience, this is a dealer to be avoided. AND check and double-check all add-on purchases - this one is a scam. Shame on Subaru for backing it.
